Police Officer / Police Recruit

The City of Roswell, New Mexico announces the processing of applications for persons interested in becoming Roswell Police Officers or Police Recruits. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, a high school graduate, in good health and physical condition, free from any felony or crime of moral turpitude conviction and have a good driving record. Applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be notified of date for physical and written tests. Eligibility lists will be established. Position offers competitive salary and benefits.

Lateral Transfers

The Roswell Police Department is also accepting applications for Police Officer through a lateral transfer program. The lateral transfer will apply to Police Officers holding a valid certification from another state, military, or federal entity. Applicants meeting the qualifications will be subject to an oral board interview and rigid background investigation. Applicants must also successfully complete a pre-employment polygraph examination, a pre-employment psychological evaluation, and a pre-employment physical examination.
