Character Counts! at Monterrey Elementary School...as it does throughout Chaves County. Rita Hughes and Dianne Doan attended a three day training session in June with Michael Josephson of the Josephson Institute as members of a group of 35 trainees from agencies throughout the county. We were pleased at how well our Reading and Respect philosophy, long in place, fits with Character Counts!

The six pillars of character each have a color coding to help remember them - so we'll be building a "rainbow of character":
Trustworthiness - Blue
Respect - Gold
Responsibility - Green
Fairness - Orange
Caring - Red
Citizenship - Purple
The week of October 15-21 is Character Counts! week.
