I would just like to give a little friendly advise to all that thinks Roswell is a "neat" town to live in. LISTEN. It's not all that its cracked up to be. Maybe aliens landed here....or maybe they didn't.....but who gives a rats ass. COME ON PEOPLE. GET A LIFE. To anyone who reads this I have only one warning....."you will never leave". THANK YOU

q;) I currently live in Roswell, NM. My advice to all that plan to move here is, to look very deeply into the city, ;ook into our crime rates, DWI's, Lack of community activities, and gang problems.

I graduated from RHS in 1977. Would love to hear from anyone from my era. Spent half of my life during highschool at the now defunct Red Rooster Lanes. Anybody know the wherabouts of Terry McFarland, or any other mid 1970's Red Rooster cronies? BTW does anybody know if RHS had a 20 year reunion for the class of 1977? Take care all!

Around 1965 Mr. Tuckers Science class as Sierra Junior High buried a time capsule. If I remember correctly the members of the class are to meet in Roswell sometime in 2000 to dig it up. The map of where we buried it is supposed to be in the safe in the principals office. If anyone out there knows anything about this, please contact me. If the map is still in the safe please let me know. I wonder if when we picked the year 2000 if we know it would be so important.

I have been considering moving to Roswell and was almost ready to pack, until I read the postings regarding driveby shootings and juvenile gangs there. I have tried to get anyone there to tell me honestly what the situation is, including email to the mayor and convention bureau, but no one will answer. Is this a really big secret, or is anyone willing to help me decide if I want to move there? Your city looks great and seems to be exactly what I would like when I move, so please let me know whatever you can. I would really appreciate an answer from anyone out there. Thanks.

Hello. Thank you very much for presenting your town on the internet. I immediately made a bookmark, there is so much here to explore. Very interesting. I look forward to searching your site more in the future, and also to a possible expansion of the culture page. My interest is in ancient history - as ancient as can be from dinosaurs to yesterday, and all inhabitants that ever were known, things like that. But I'd be happy just to learn who lived there in the 1700's to 1800's, for starters. Thanks in advance, Kim.

I went to school in Roswell all through the 50s and 60s. I went to Mark Howell Elementary, North Junior High (later named Pueblo Junior High), and Roswell High. I think I left Roswell High in 1962 or 1963. I have tried to find some of the people I knew through the "find people" sites, but with very little luck. My maiden name was Linda Faye Leonard and I married Brian MacFawn. Brian's father Frederick Herbert MacFawn, was the Base Commander at Walker Air Force Base. My closest girlfriends were Marilyn Harcrow, Georgia Scott; and Lita, Anita, and Louise Ybarra. My dearest friend was Clay Hendrix. My high school sweetheart was James Bryan Dudley. Bryan and I did stay in touch for over 30 years--and still loved each other in that special "first love" way--until his recent death. Other friends were Bill Wagner, Bucky Cox, Betty and Becky Gwartney, Marla Gibson, Clyde Blackwell, "the Sissy Twins"--Marlene and Marvine(can't remember their last name--they were Freshman cheerleaders at North Junior High), Danny Leonard, Hal Hill, Jim Reed. I knew a lot of the DeMolay boys. I was in Sunshine Girls. If you know any of the people I named, please let me know. I love Roswell more than any place on Earth. I have traveled a great deal throughout my life, and Roswell is the one place I go back to again and again. I now live in an Inupiat Eskimo village on the edge of the Arctic Ocean, 330 miles above the Arctic Circle--but I'm looking for land to buy around Roswell. I'm only a few years away from retirement and I'm going to retire in Roswell. I would LOVE to hear from anyone living in Roswell! Email me at: lmacfawn@co.north-slope.ak.us

Hello any RHS class of 1987 folks and anyone else who are curious like me and checked out the the Roswell web pages. It boggles my mind that Roswell has it's own web page now. Days gone past I would be on a long trip and people would say "So, Where are you from?" I would reply "Roswell, NM." They would say something bright like "Do you need a passport to come visit?" Or the always humorous funny, you don't look hispanic. Now everybody wants to talk about the whole alien thing and to tell you the truth I did not even hear one word about this alien thing until about 3 yrs. ago! Anyway, Just thought I would drop a line on the the Roswell comment page. If you see ol' Doc. Miller on the golf course tell him Keith will come home someday soon!!! Keith

1) I Lived in Roswell from 1952 (3rd grade at Washington Ave.), through North Jr. High and Roswell High and had friends in all classes of the early sixties. I drove a '57 chevy, yellow with a primer spot on right rear door. Stupid stuff: I wrapped it out to about 50 in the RHS fire lane. Glass packs and all. I worked at KRSY under the name Chuck Bishop. When KSWS sold I was a TV director, and transferred to Lubbock. 2) Like some readers, I never heard anything about the "Incident" until the last few years. The only debris I ever saw on any of the surrounding ranches was from keg parties. (I guess there just isn't anyone going to buy a plastic tube of dirt from where Dr. Robert H. Goddard developed modern rocketry, or where author Paul Horgan wrote "A distant Trumpet" or from where Louise Massey wrote "My Adobe Hacienda, or from where Peter Hurd painted some of the worlds most beautiful southwestern paintings, or where his wife, Henriette Wyeth Hurd (daughter of Andrew Wyeth the foremost American artist) painted any of her magnificent portraits. Never mind that Roswell WAS the law west of the Pecos. (Three miles west). Never mind that Pat Garrett, who ran for sheriff in Roswell and lost tracked Billy the Kid across those same ranches between Lincoln, through the Roswell area to Ft. Sumter. When I say I grew up in Roswell, people say "Oh, ha ha, were you ever abducted." 3) Would you please add a bulletin board named "What ever happend to" which lets former residents list their Current Names, Maiden Name, Date of Birth and/or graduation, and e-mail and/or current address. Like others, there are those I would like to find. The women are impossible to find because of the name changes. IE: (Mid 60's) Sharon Masters, Paula Miller, Margie Sumruld, Susie and Trudy King, another Susie King, and so on. 4) Very nice site. Keep up the good work. "Brig"

I graduated from Roswell High School in 1963. I was only in Roswell for 2 years, but they were absolutely the best years of my life. If I could only go back! I would like to find Sandra Evertson (maiden name) just to know she is doing ok. She probably graduated from Goddard in 1966. Also, Camille Shaffer who graduated from Roswell High in 1963. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I came through Roswell a few years ago and fell in love with the town and the people there. I thought about it for a long time and came through Roswell again about a week ago. Still love it. Hope I can move to your beautiful town some day. I consider Roswell my home in the US. Just have not been able to move there yet. Headed to Central America for a year. I am 100% sure I will buy a home in your town as soon as I get back. Great web site too.

He was travelling from Vancouver, BC, Canada to Denver, CO and then on bacvk home to NM on November, 21, 1997. I believe he said his name was James Wade, but I might be wrong. He lives in Roswell with his wife, he is perhaps 45-55 years old, quite tall and he owns some businesses in the area. As long as humans have been on earth there has always been unexplainible things happening in the skies. Many of us thought it was a sign that something bad was going too happen. But has it ? Nobody knows if they are friends or foes.I think its about time that the U.S government come forward with the truth too the public and the President of the United States.

From the beginning of mankind there has always been unexplainible things in the sky and there still is. Are technology has come B..... far in the last century many of the things we have to day like lazer are all resaults of the roswell crash Why there shouldnt be life anywhere else I dont know. If there is life in all solarsystems the chance of being visited by other life forms from outerspace is just as big for are planet TELLUS as for other. The time has come for are world to reach further and further in to the heavens. Almost every theory that people have about the UFO chrash in Roswell, are about how "bad" the US government is, but when (if) the UFO chrashed, and the US government recovered live alien(s), the aliens told them about all their thechnology, and perhaps their technology was so advanced that if the humans developed that technology too, we would get such advanced waepons, and the humans are not the most peaceful creatures in the world, it could be so dangerous to us that we might exterminate ourselves. So therefore the US government, together with the aliens, decided that they would keep it secret for a while. So who knows, suddenly one day the US government have a surprise for the humanity!

I have a personal incident that happened to me at Roswell. My story begins in 1978, at the tender age of 8. My Uncle Roy, a Roswell buff, had loaded myself and the cousins up in the Winnebago for a trip to NM. I was, for lack of a better term---a non-believer. But what happened that day, has changed me forever. We had pulled up to set camp in a small gully in the desert and had parked next to a trickle of a desert stream. Afternoon passed into evening and on into night. The pitch blackness surrounded us. As I laid down to rest, I heard it. A scratching noise was coming from some distance away. I thought nothing of it . . . perhaps it was my imagination, yet it seemed to grow louder with each passing moment. Soon my cousins heard it too, and in a fit of prepubescent terror we called out to Uncle Roy. He said he would check on it , in a joking manner to calm our wildest fears. From the vantage point of my tent I watched in anticipatory horror as Uncle Roy ventured into the night, calling "Who's there? Be gone!" Almost before I knew what had happened, I saw a greenish glow, and a flash of something large striking at Uncle Roy. His limp body arched against the full moon and disappeared . . . We children shivered on through the night, waiting for any sign of human prsence. As dawn broke, we walked down to the river--still no sign of Uncle Roy. As we proceeded along the river bank, we eventually stumbled upon his body. It had gotten tangled up in a patch of Virginia Creeper which clung to unyielding rocks, his face still twisted in a grotesque mask of terror. The oldest of us, Billy-Bob, III, suggested that perhaps Uncle Roy, a man not known for his sobriety, had met his maker on the desperate end of a midnight bender. That was until young Cody cried out, "But he's UPSTREAM from the camp!!" At that moment, I knew my nightmarish vision was no figment of my imagination. The hulking, lewd, figure in my camp that night was the savage alien of Roswell, come to take my Uncle Roy from us. . .. . I still lie awake . . . .

It really happened. My great-grandfather, Ebineser Pearson was there. He was one of the first on the scene. Old Ebineser, a whiskey jug in one hand, and a saturday night special in the other took on those alien bastards. From what I recollect, he shot one of the space punks smack dab in the schnoze, and one of the others fired a plasma watt rifle that severed his left arm. In years to come, I realized why they called him "Righty." The story is true, and all that live today should pay homage to old Ebineser Pearson, the savior of mankind. I, his great-grandson, honor him every year by taking a fifth of Jack to Roswell, along with my Ak 47, and I wait for the second comming. I pray to the god above, that one day I will have the courage to meet one of those alien bastages, mano y mano, in a glorious fight for survival. When that day comes, I will be ready. Those alien scum-suckers don't stand a chance. Viva Nicaragua, and all that good shit. I am primed and ready, bring it on, the fight to the death. Old Ebineser would be proud, for he fought for mine, and your, survival. So, if you see me hunched over, clinging to a bottle of "Jack,", Please ask me for a drink, and I'll be glad to share a tale of the man who Protected Earth as we know it.....

very informative and enjoyable site. I lived in the area in the early 1950's at Orchard Park and later on E. Alameda st. I am seeking specific information about Roswell, WAAF, Orchard Park during the early 1950"s I am not at all interested in the supposed UFO incident. When I lived there and attended East Side Elementary I do not recall any conversations about this affair. Thank you so much. Roswell is a great place.

Would like to find out the printer for the 1965 RHS yearbook. Lost mine and would love to have another one. Where is Nancy Johnson, Shirley Tyner Box, Doris, Ed Kidwell, Dusty Hucklebee, Sharon, and so many others? Living in Washington state, moved so much don't know where home is. I had the best time of my life going to high school in Roswell. Jetty McCluskey, still there?? If anyone remembers me, e-mail. Carol Norman RHS 1966.

The Wilsons moved to roswell from near Ft. Sumner in 1918 when I was a year old. They lived there until their death and I, until l939 when I joined the Army Aircorps and went to Hickam field Hawaii.Left the service in 1945 for three years and settled in Roswell working for Roddens Photo Studio. Was there in 1947 for the excitement. Reenlisted in the Air corp in 9948 and retired here in Biloxi Ms in1968. Still have friends and relatives in Roswell. Think you have a great page. Keep up the good work.

I am a proud member of the RHS class of 1994. Some of my best memories are rooted in Roswell. Eventhough I am currently in Abilene, Texas I still travel home to see my old stomping grounds.
