Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art - Collection of contemporary art works produced by past artists-in-residence. 409 E. College Blvd. Free Admission. Open 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone #623-5600

Historical Center for Southeast New Mexico - James Phelps White’s stately home is filled with antiques, artifacts and a changing gallery of historical exhibits. 200 N. Lea Ave. (Corner of Lea & Hwy US 70 West). Free Admission. Open 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Fri., Sat. & Sun. Special tours by appt.

International UFO Museum & Research Center - UFO phenomenon exhibits, gift shop and The Alien Caffeine Espresso Bar. 114 N. Main. Free admission. Open 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day. # 625-9495

General Douglas L. McBride Museum - Military armament displays and N.M.M.I. memorabilia. New Mexico Military Institute, 101 West College Blvd. Free Admission. Open T-F 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.. Closed all holidays. Educational programs by appt. Phone #624-8220.

Roswell Museum & Art Center - Art by Peter Hurd, Henriette Wyeth, Georgia O’Keefe, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, Rogers Aston Collection. Robert H. Goddard’s workshop recreated. Gift shop. 100 W. 11th St. Free Admission. Mon. -Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sundays and Holidays 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.. Phone #624-6744.

Robert H. Goddard Planetarium - an adjoining wing to the Roswell Museum & Art Center. Open to the public one week per month. Tuesday - Saturday 1:30 p.m., and Friday 7:30 p.m.. General Admission $2; Members $1. Phone #624-6744

UFO Enigma Museum - Roswell’s oldest UFO museum. UFO Phenomenon displays and gift shop. 6108 South Main. Admission: Adults $1, Children $.50. Mon - Sat 9:30 - 5:00 p.m., Sun 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.. Phone #347-2275.

Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge - A must for bird watchers !! Also has designated fishing and hunting areas. From North Main Street East on Pine Lodge Road appx. 9 miles. 622-6755

Bottomless Lakes State Park - Swimming, Boating, Fishing & Hiking. Also has an RV Park. 12 miles east on Hwy. 380, then south on NM 409. 624-6058

Cahoon Park Swimming Pool - Largest outdoor pool (540,000 gallons) in Roswell. Nice park setting. Open Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Adults $1.50, Children 11 & under $ 1.00, group rates available. 1101 West Fourth. 624-6764

New Mexico Military Institute Golf Course 18 hole course. 201 W. 19th. 622-6033.

Roswell Racquet Club & Spa - Open to the public for a per day usage fee. Includes an indoor lap pool, 6 racquet ball courts, weight room, aerobics classes, jacuzzis. 200 E. Mescalero. 622-0962

Special Events Division - Roswell Recreation Department - Call to see what concerts or festivals are planned during your stay in Roswell!! 624-6720

Spring River Golf Course - 18 hole golf course. 1612 West Eighth Street. 622-9506.

Spring River Hike & Bike Trail - A scenic paved bicycle & jogging/walking trail winding through the Spring River corridor. (It links the Spring River Park and Zoo to the Spring River Golf Course). 1101 W. Fourth Street.

Spring River Park & Zoo - Free Admission. Open 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. 7 days a week. Features include a miniature train ride, carousel, and a fishing lake. 1306 East College

Roswell also has softball, soccer, volleyball, running, walking, cycling and hiking events. Please call our office at 624-6860 or come by the Convention Center located at 912 North Main for a current schedule.

If you want to just stay indoors or go shopping, we can also suggest some of Roswell’s many fine establishments.
