BOOK TALK

Librarian Mary Beth Wright provides this week's book information. Feng Shui (fung sway), the ancient art of living in harmony with your environment, has been practiced in China for centuries and is now gaining popularity in the West. Master Lin Yun and Sarah Rossbach’s book, "Living Color," is a complete guide to color application in all areas of life. In this well-written book, the authors describe how color can restore and enhance energy, balance, and good fortune in your home and life.

If your workplace is not in balance, Richard Webster offers tips and solutions for every business. "Feng Shui for the Workplace" offers suggestions to make simple adjustments to your own work environment that can create an atmosphere that is happier, healthier, and successful. Although you cannot change the design of the building, you are in the position to make some minor changes in your workplace to make your workday place more enjoyable.

The basic Chinese principles of Feng Shui are simply explained with 150 photographs and plans in PRACTICAL "Feng Shui." Richard Craze offers instant and simple ideas for reordering your home interior, garden, or office to improve health, wealth and happiness. Before doing any redecorating, consult this book, which offers answers to what sofa colors are harmonious, furniture placement, etc. in the Feng Shui tradition.

You’ll find additional books illustrating the principles of Feng Shui at your Roswell Public Library. By, putting these principles into practice, you can enhance and harmonize the flow of energy in your surroundings.

DID YOU KNOW?

According to microbiologists at Kansas State University, bug zappers and food don’t mix. These devices can throw bits of insects more than six feet away. These pieces, and the bacteria in them, can settle on food that is near the zapper. If you use a zapper, keep it well away from food and food-preparation areas.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: "Praise does wonders for a person’s hearing." (unknown)
