Do I really want to move to Roswell?

I have been considering a move to Roswell, and was pretty well convinced it was a good place to be. I have just recently been made aware of driveby shootings, gangs, and what appears to be uncontrolled juvenile crime and other dangerous situations there and am having second thoughts. I currently live in a major east coast city of about a million people and we don't have driveby's here nor do we have gangs. How come a small town like Roswell can't deal with the problem?

Is the problem as bad as it appears to be? I'd really like to feel comfortable about relocating to what looked like a great place to me before I heard of this problem. Can anyone fill me in with an honest appraisal?
