I lived in Roswell 1957-1961 and I don,t remember hearing about a space ship crashing there at that time. I did like living there and I have visitied several times since.

The only place I've ever known that puts all of your business in the street. Don't get into trouble (of any sort) in Roswell. They will attempt to "shame you" by publishing whatever you did in the Daily Record. Stop Following Me!!!! Unfortunately it becomes a perfect place for the sickness of gossip and political power plays. Information is used to destroy rather than assist others in that town. It is a seed killing place. The only reason that it has grown is because of the Kooks coming year after year. I cannot stand to return, as it hold no promise for my future - just as it held no promise for my present when I lived there. I used to think that I could go back in order to prove to them that I was better, in spite of their efforts to kill me. Well, so far, they've succeeded. Until I am far enough away from there, I will not see my future live. It now stinks of dairy and other farms too closely situated near the city center. The population has shifted from a fairly broad spectrum of Latinos, whites, a few blacks, jews, etc. to a land of White Republicans and Mexican Immigrants. There is only the very rich and the very poor. Where there was a good interaction between the classes, there is no more. Raising your children in this insulated, isolated environment will be the death of them - especially as the world moves towards a globalized society. If you want your child to go to a good college, stay away from Roswell. There is no growth in a world view. If you're an alcoholic or drug addict - it's a great place to party! Just don't smoke in public (Thanks Kim R.! Nice to see you're still thinking of me!).

Again, it's a seed killer for those from a population greater than 100k. There are a lot of big fishes in this small pond, and they suck up all the oxygen out of the water.

There is a basic common justice that should be exchanged among a people (Americans)...This common justice is not nurtured among the people of any power in Roswell. If you wish to live in a small town with all of its "quaintness," You are better off anywhere else besides Roswell.

Hatred of a place? no. Hatred of the disingenuousness of the people. yes. Want your children to understand what disingenuousness means? Don't move to Roswell.

In about 3 to 4 months, I might have a chance to move to Roswell, New Mexico. I am a 25 year old male. I live in Louisiana right now. I will be looking for either a two bedroom house or two bedroom apartment for rent. Also a good phone company. And dsl/cable/satelite/or other. Which is reasonable and doesn't rip you off Wink I have two websites and stuff. I also will be doing some filmmaking while in Roswell. I have some scripts I have to shoot. Thanks!
