I was the Sports Director at KBIM-TV from 1982 - 1987. I remember Roswell as the "All-American City", full of ordinary nice and normal people, many of whom I still consider friends. Two of my sons graduated from GHS, and none of their classmates sprouted antennae. I remember the town I knew then rather fondly; I don't recognize the Roswell I see in TV coverage these days. Guess you really CAN'T go home again. Anyway, a big hello to anyone who remembers from my years there.

I grew up on a ranch about 50+ miles from Roswell and we always came in there to get our groceries and whatever we needed. Now my husband and I live in Portales; he has a shop in Clovis. Hello; My name is Jack Hahn. I was stationed at Walker Air Force Base back in 1957,58,59... I have really enjoyed the time Ive spent looking at the map of roswell checking out all the web sights and bring back some old memories . I have really enjoyed it. My grandparents, Joseph and Mary Carper lived in Roswell around 1901.My Mother, Virginia Carper, was born in Roswell, but grew up in Uvalde, Texas. Joseph Carper and several of his sons appear in the Peter Hurd painting of a water well being drilled, housed in the Roswell Museum. My father, Clark Storm came to Roswell as a new college graduate, and taught at the Institute. He met and married my Mother in 1930, they lived in Roswell,they knew Dr.and Mrs. Robert Goddard. In 1943,our family moved to Artesia, where I was born. My father built the first FHA house in Roswell, an adobe style house just south of the Institute. He had Bill "Jeep" Daniels, the cable TV mogul, as a student at NMMI. My Mother is 90 years old and lives in Midland,Texas. My father passed away in 1991.

I think that Mt. View needs to have a school website. They also need to take better care of the there students by getting a better launguage arts teacher naming Mrs cottrell she has a bad attitude toward teaching. She calls the students names and she is very rude to their parents and the students.

I've seen pictures of your beautiful city and countryside and would like to see some of it on your site, or at least some of that vast beautiful wilderness beyond your city limits. I've never been to your city and can never afford to but thanks to TV I can at least appreciate the atmosphere of Roswell and all her forever lasting character. My comment is for the City of Roswell which I visited in May 2001. How clean the streets and attractive the buildings. And no parking meters down town. But all the friendly people I met and in particular the young lady in the visitors center.A nice place to visit and maybe retire.

What a treat to find your web page! I grew up in Roswell...1957-1967. Graduated from GHS '67. My dad was stationed at Walker AFB and flew B-52's (his name was Lt. Col. Harry E. Darnell). I have wonderful memories of growing up there...tumbleweed forts, duck and cover "bomb" drills, trips to Ruidoso, Carlsbad Caverns, the Bottomless Lake, waterskiing at Alamagordo Lake, dragging Main Street from the drive-in thru downtown and back again, picking up cadets from NMMI along the way. We lived on N. Garden Street, next to Joyce and Tommy Ansley. I attended one GHS reunion and that was in 1986. I've lost contact with the class and would like to hear of any upcoming reunions. Anyway, loved looking thru the comments section. May have to come back for a visit!!

Hi, I'm Molly and i think you have done a marvelous job with your site. The information on real estate has been most helpful in my search for a new home. I lived in Roswell from 1958- 1968, at which time Walker A.F.B closed and we had to move away. We always loved living there and now are contemplating the move back. Dear Roswell, You should be VERY happy you had a group of kids do a documentary on your local Cemetery! That was a brilliant idea! Just stumbled onto this,looks like Roswell has grown a lot since I spent my 21st Birthday at Rowell Army Air Base Dec. 29, 1942. Riding the Santa Fe into town was quite an experience for this Glider Pilot Trainee . Put on my first GI Uniform there and remember how nice the ladies from Roswell were to donate their time to do alterations and sewing of insignia for us. No UFO's in those days , Just AT 10's and AT 11's for the Bombadier Cadets. It's been a long time, but memories remain . From Roswell it was up to Kirtland at Albuquerque and points beyond. Anyone remember those days ?

Hi! I enjoyed catching up with today's Roswell through your web page! I was the Roswell Librarian in 1967, and some people in Roswell may remember the censorship controversy of that year; it resulted in me shipping out (and later - 1977 -writing a book about it, RUNNING A MESSAGE PARLOR). I remember some especially happy experiences with the Roswell Little Theatre.I've been a journalist and a mediator in the years since then(having moved to New Zealand in 1980). This is a mad house, I realize Walker Air Force base is no longer there,read the history on the place from the enola gay to the missiles of oct. I have been trying to contact classmates from the mid 60 and I've been offered dates have my car refinanced and on how about a simple bullitian board were you leave messages and answer them?

i lived in Roswell for almost 12 years, my husband was a B52 maintenance crew chief at Walker A.F.B. All of my children were born at Walker. I love going thru your web site, brings back a lot of memories. some not so good... i have 3 children at South Park cemetary. This coming June , my husband i plan to return to Roswell and may even decide to make it our permenant retirement home. that would put us closer to our children in southern Ca.(and our grandchildren) we will continue to view the web page and we are also looking at your real estate sites.

aloha! the web site's really interesting with lots of information about the town but whats about the aliens? I didn't really find something about the popular UFO crash.
