Observe Children's Dental Health Month at "Big Tooth Storytime." Activities will include pop-up books "Brush Your Teeth Please" and "Going to the Dentist"; felt board story "Big Sweet Tooth"; fingerplay "My Tooth Brush"; song "Happy Tooth"; and cut-and-tell story "The Dentist." Make a happy tooth finger puppet.
February 7

Pet pigeons from the award winning flock of Mr. Danny Zamora. View a variety of fancy pigeons and learn about raising pigeons. Make a pecking pigeon toy.

Assemble and decorate an assortment of Valentine cards.

Recognize African American History Month with African tales including pop-up "The Hunter Who Was King"; feltboards "Anansi and the Rock" and "Turtle Comes to Dinner"; and shadow puppet play "Anansi the Spider."  Make a thatched dwelling and a beaded necklace.
February 22 Discover the joy of New Mexico books through "Boots, 3:00 p.m. Moccasins, and Gumshoes," a program for all ages presented by Ethel Armstrong and Barbara Harris, editors of DISCOVER NEW MEXICO, A READING LIST.
February 25

Hop aboard the "Reading Railroad" with train activities including big book "Freight Train"; pop-up "Steam Locomotives"; and felt boards "Shapes on the Go" and "Transportation." Make a train banner.

Celebrate National Snack Food Month with yummy stories including big books "It Looked Like Spilt Milk", and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"; pop-up "Snack Attack"; and felt board "A Cake for Barney." Make worm pie.

Create during Youth Art Month with tell-and-draw stories and stories of young artists including "The Little Painter of Sabana Grande", and collaborate on a mural for display during March.

Enjoy money magic with the illusion "Double Your Money" big book "A Chair for My Mother", and cut-and-tell story "The Golden Cave". Make a lift-the-flap money puzzle and money hat.

Decorate eggs and bunnies with lace, glitter, and feathers.

Umbrellas for April showers are featured in rainy stories including the tell and draw story "At the End of the Rainbow", natures green umbrella in pop-up "Creatures of the Rain Forest", and felt board "Piggy in the Puddle". Make a piggy in puddle with a parasol.

Ladybugs take the spotlight in pop-ups "Ladybug on the Move" and "The Magic Blanket", felt boards "Carochinha" and "A House of Leaves", and stick puppet play "The Grouchy Ladybug". Make a ladybug.

Chaves County Soil and Water Conservation present an educational program about natural resources of the Pecos Valley. Take home a grow-it kit.
