Deposits

All occupants of residential property, except the legal owner, must deposit the sum of sixty dollars ($60.00) with the clerk-treasurer to secure the payment of all utility service bills or charges.

All owners, lessees or renters of business or commercial property must deposit the sum of sixty dollars ($60.00) with the clerk-treasurer to secure the payment of all utility service bills or charges.

Meters and Meter Boxes

It is the duty of the occupant to keep and maintain each meter box in repair and the tops or lids firmly closed and in place.

The charge for water is based in meter size:

Sewer

The charge for sewer service is five dollars ($5.00) per month plus seventy-five cents ($0.75) for each one thousand (1,000) gallons used per month (see water used for irrigation purposes below).

The charge is applied to each:

Single-family residence

Family unit separately metered in a multiple family residence

Singly metered multiple family residence or mobile home park

Hotel and business house

Water used for irrigation purposes

The sewer charge is calculated based on the actual amount of water used for the months of December, January and February. For all other months the charge is fixed at the average of the monthly charges for the preceding December, January and February. In the event there was no connection throughout this three-month period, the charge is based on the average of the monthly charges for part of the three-month period.
