The Roswell Sertoma Club in conjunction with the Roswell Recreation Department announce an essay contest open to all students within the Chaves county area to help kick off this years "Robert H. Goddard Days" to be held Oct. 12-14. The subject of the contest will be "Robert H. Goddard and his place in man's effort to reach the stars. "

The essays will be judged by a panel of Roswell Sertoma Members and will be divided into three categories by age brackets and limited in length:

Each category will have total cash prizes of $250.00 awarded, with $125.00 going to the First place entry, $75.00 to the second place entry and $50.00 going to the third place entry in each age category. (A total of $750.00 will be awarded).

Entry deadline is September 20, 2000. And all entries should include full name, age and school. Artwork, as a cover sheet, is suggested, but optional, in accompanying the essay.
