Today is Be Late For Something Day, while tomorrow is Do It! Day (aka Fight Procrastination Day), a day for the organizationally challenged to get in gear! Thursday is Neither Snow Nor Rain Day, which celebrates the opening of the New York Public Library on Labor Day, 1914. Friday is the opening of the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque. Sunday is National Grandparents Day, and Monday is No News Is Good News Day.
WHAT'S HAPPENING?
At Wednesday's 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. story times, participants will hear apple stories, watch apple puppet plays, and make a crown, necklace, and nameplate using die cut apples. Saturday morning’s 10:00 story time celebrates Piñata Fest with stories and activities featuring Mexico and fiestas. Participants will break a piñata and make papel picado and paper flowers.

If you like to window shop or roam through furniture stores, you’ll love the library’s great collection of interior decorating books. Just type in the subject and our on-line catalog will pull up a list of 222 titles covering a wide range of styles for you to enjoy.
We have just added several new books on various aspects of interior decorating. Some of the newest titles are "Easy and Elegant Home Decorating," "Colonial Homes, Classic American Decorating," "Sun Country Style," "Best Little Houses," "House Beautiful Color," and "Creating Country Style."
These books range from art and design appreciation to practical decorating projects for your home. Every aspect of home decorating can be found in our collection. Whether you’re looking for ideas for window treatments, unusual bathroom fixtures, or new color combinations of paint and furniture, it’s all at your fingertips to use and enjoy at the Roswell Public Library!

Install automatic lights to illuminate the path from bedroom to bathroom. Make sure the bed is low enough so a person’s feet touch the floor when he/she sits on it. Install slip-resistant vinyl flooring in the bathroom.
Storage areas in the kitchen should be between waist and eye level, and fire extinguishers should be easy to reach. Fit electric stoves with a device that automatically turns off burners after a set time. Safety treads on stairs are safer than carpeting.
