: I am still looking for some information about Roswell. Please read my previous posting "Do I really want to move to Roswell?"
: I will be visiting there sometime in September, but would still like to consider a permanent move there. I didn't get the reply to my previous inquiry, and if that person would try again I'd appreciate it.
: I wrote email directly to the mayor and the head of the Convention and Visitors Bureau also but neither has responded.
: Is there anyone else who would like to offer an appraisal of Roswell to someone considering a move there?
: Thank You again.
There have been things happening as you have mentioned, and Roswell police and the community are genuinely concerned. I think that the problems, although mostly confined to certain areas, are being addressed by the RPD with awareness in schools with the Gang Resistance and Drug awareness programs (GREAT & DARE), and are working to reduce the problems with the younger generations. Roswell is in a growth spurt, and it is the cause of these problems.
I have lived in Roswell for many many years and have enjoyed it. I do not have any crime statistics for you, but believe that when you do visit, you will see that Roswell has its fair share of good qualities. We have 5 museums, a community theater, a symphony orchestra, and a vast array of community organizations that works hard to bring family oriented events throughout the year. Contact the Visitors Bureau at 888-Roswell, and you can receive a relocation package and perhaps learn more information.
